The Barn is at the village of Flagg, near Monyash, and between Buxton and Bakewell, the nearest towns.

THE AREA
Flagg, in the Peak District National Park, is at the centre of an interesting network of paths giving easy access to the nearby Lathkill and Monsall Dales. Apart from the excellent walking, there are many interesting villages such as Monyash, Taddington and Chelmorton. Flagg itself is a pleasent, quiet, village, with a welcoming inn and restaurant (The Plough Inn with Antonia and Steve behind the bar (01298) 85557).
ACCOMMODATION
Kitchen - with electric cooker, fridge, cooking equipment and cutlery.
Living Room - with a coal fired stove, tables, benches and chairs.
Two Dormitories - with bunks for 8 and 6 (two are 3/4 size).
Four flush WCs and shower.
Camping is possible in the adjacent field.
BRIEF HISTORY
The property was given to a youth group in 1929. Since then it has been used for meetings and holidays as well as introducing city children to the countryside. The property was originally a very simple barn; but has, over the years, been converted by members into an attractive bunkhouse.
OWNERSHIP
The Barn and nearby house, The Green, are administered by a Trust. The tenants at The Green have general oversight of The Barn.

AVAILABILITY
The Barn is open from the beginning of March to the beginning of November.
